Joseph Smedley, II was only 20 yrs old when he went missing. He was a sophomore at Indiana University

in Bloomington, IN. Joseph was living in an off-campus house that he shared with his Sigma Pi brothers.

On the evening of Sunday, September 27 th , 2015, Joseph walked out of his house and was never seen

alive again. After receiving a sketchy text message, his sister Vivianne reported him missing the following

day. Joseph’s body would be found in nearby Griffy Lake by a fisherman. Among other oddities, Joseph

was wearing a backpack which contained 66 pounds of rocks. The police quickly ruled it a suicide.
